Richard Hare was a close friend and a great guy. He was extremely bright, witty and lots of fun. He was a veteran of our summer Brazos River canoe trips and worked with me on my Dads cattle ranch. He was liberal before most of us knew what the word meant. I still miss Richard. I believe he died in the late '80's.
I met Richard in 7th grade when we were at Stripling Jr. High. From that time forward we were friends. I loved my friend Richard for his brilliant mind, his liberal embrace of politics and mankind. His sense of adventure, his expansive sense of humor, his tender heart and his straight forward honesty and integrity when it came to respecting who each of us are. I deeply miss my freind Richard and guess I always will.
